One refused parcel feels like a small loss. Over a month it isn't. This calculator turns your refusal share into a monthly amount so you can decide how much effort it's worth to bring it down.
It's free, needs no sign-up and keeps everything in your browser.
How it works
- Refused orders = orders placed × refusal share.
- Monthly profit = (delivered orders × profit on a delivered order) − (refused orders × cost of one refused order).
- What refusals cost you = the monthly profit if none were refused − the monthly profit now.
- Extra profit at the target = monthly profit at the target refusal share − monthly profit now.
A worked example
Example numbers only: 100 orders a month, Rs 380 profit on a delivered order, Rs 280 per refused order. At 30 refused you'd earn 70 × 380 − 30 × 280 = Rs 18,200 a month. At 15 refused you'd earn 85 × 380 − 15 × 280 = Rs 28,100.
Cutting refusals from 30 to 15 in this example is worth about Rs 9,900 a month. That's why confirming every order is worth the time.
Common questions
How do I find my refusal share?
Divide the orders that were refused by the orders you placed, over the same period, from your own records.
What is a realistic target?
That depends on your products and area. Use a target a little below where you are now and measure again after changing one thing.
How can I reduce refusals?
Confirm every order before you place it, describe the product honestly, give a realistic delivery time and write down why orders fail. The guides linked below go through each step.
