How to Start Dropshipping in Pakistan: A Step-by-Step Checklist for Beginners

A practical checklist for your first weeks of online selling in Pakistan: choose a few products, price them, confirm every order and learn from your first deliveries.

Starting is easier than staying organised. Most beginners lose money not because the model is hopeless but because they skip small steps: they price without checking charges, place orders the customer never confirmed, or sell ten products before they understand one. This checklist puts the steps in order. If the model is still new to you, read how dropshipping works in Pakistan first.

Step 1: Decide who you will sell to

Start with the customers you can already reach: people in your own city, your social media followers, friends of friends, a WhatsApp group you belong to. It is far easier to sell to a small group you understand than to everyone. Write down who they are and what they usually buy.

Step 2: Pick two or three products, not twenty

  • Choose items your customers already ask about or buy elsewhere.
  • Prefer products that are easy to describe and hard to get wrong: avoid products that need exact sizes or fitting until you have some experience.
  • Avoid fragile or hard-to-pack items at the start; damage turns into refused parcels.
  • Avoid products where you cannot judge quality yourself. Order or inspect one if you can.

Step 3: Look at the shop, not only the price

A cheaper product from an unreliable shop costs more in the end. Check that photos are real, descriptions are clear and the shop keeps stock accurate. The checks are explained in how to choose a reliable supplier.

Step 4: Create your account and finish the registration steps

On Shipify, sign-up asks only for your mobile number and a password. Before you can place orders you complete the remaining steps shown on your dashboard, such as the agreement, your details, a payout account, an identity check and, for online sellers, a security deposit. These steps exist to protect everybody who uses the platform, so do them carefully and in one sitting if you can. You can start the sign-up here.

Step 5: Work out your price and your profit

Before you tell anyone the price, subtract the shop's price, the delivery charge and the platform fee from it, and check what is left. Use the profit calculator on the homepage and the method in how to calculate profit on a cash-on-delivery order. Keep a cushion for the orders that will not be delivered.

Step 6: Show the product honestly

  • Use clear photos of the real item.
  • State size, colour, material and what is included.
  • Say the full price the customer pays at the door, including delivery if it is part of it.
  • Do not promise a delivery time you cannot control. Say that delivery is usually quick but that times are estimates.

Step 7: Confirm every order before you place it

When a customer says yes, repeat the product, the amount to pay and the delivery address, and check that someone will be there to receive it and pay. Only then place the order. This one habit does more to protect your profit than any other; see refused orders and returns in cash-on-delivery selling.

Step 8: Follow the delivery

Use the tracking link to see where the order is and tell the customer when to expect the rider. A customer who knows the rider is coming is much less likely to refuse the parcel or miss the call.

Step 9: Keep simple records and learn

For each order write down the product, price, profit, result (delivered, refused, returned) and reason. After two or three weeks you will see which products, areas and customers work. Keep what works, drop what does not, and only then add a new product.

A realistic first month

  • Week 1: finish registration, choose two or three products, work out prices.
  • Week 2: show the products to your first customers and place your first confirmed orders.
  • Week 3: review what was delivered and what was refused; fix your confirmation routine.
  • Week 4: decide which products to keep, and add one new product at a time.

This is a way of working, not a promise of results. Earnings depend on your products, your customers and your effort, and nobody can guarantee them.
